The Commons. Practicing the Way of Jesus. Together.
“Following Jesus is more than going to church or believing the right things; it is practicing a way of life. The meaning of “follow Jesus” is rooted in 1st-century practices of rabbis and apprentices, practices that inform our understanding of how to follow Jesus today.”
Aligned with the vision, values, and practices of our TRELLIS “common rule” as a church community, we aim to take advantage of the excellent resources made available by our friends at “Practicing the Way” (practicingtheway.org). Each winter, we’ll offer a series of small cohorts engaging with a 4-week PTW course, each focused on taking a deeper look at an individual spiritual practice.
In 2026, we’ll be offering cohorts focused on the Prayer, Fasting, and Community Practices. Details and registration, below.
2026 Cohort Offerings

+ The Fasting Practice: Starting 2/16/26 +

Spiritual Health Reflection
The Spiritual Health Reflection is a self-assessment tool designed to help you gauge your inner life with God and the person you are becoming in Christ. It typically takes about 5 - 10 minutes to complete, and we invite those who are participating in the course to take advantage of this tool at some point before Session 1 or 2, if possible.
